Raised in Southern Oregon and now based between New York City and Austin, Texas, Baylee Toney is a filmmaker, writer, director, producer, and actor drawn to stories about family, identity, and the complicated ways people connect with one another
Her work is often rooted in Americana and explores the spaces where humor, heartbreak, and human contradiction collide. Whether set in the Pacific Northwest, the Badlands, or small-town Texas, her films are driven by character and a deep love of place.
Baylee's first feature film, Last Tour Home, premiered at the Soho International Film Festival before being released by Freestyle Digital Media. Most recently, she directed and starred in Run Honey Run, a quirky western currently beginning its festival run, and wrapped production on PENNY, a 1970s memoir adaptation starring Julianna Margulies alongside Tony Award winner Joanna Gleason and Lio Tipton.
She is currently developing her next feature, The Apology Tour, a Texas-set family dramedy about forgiveness, mortality, and the people we hope to make peace with before the end of our road.
Baylee believes great films begin with great characters. She is passionate about telling stories that feel deeply human, visually rich, and emotionally honest long after the credits roll.
